This is the website of the Whisper software project, which is a (mostly one-person) project developing a lightweight VST-based sequencing application for virtual studio use.
An initial version of the site was setup near the beginning of the year 2009, while the application development itself had been started earlier in 2008.
Both the site and Whisper itself are currently (still) very much under construction.
Whisper is a spare-time amateur project that stems from personal interest towards the results of the work (and the work itself), and towards the subject of music-making in general.
You can perhaps compare the Whisper project to things like building your own boat on your spare time, occasionally with help from others, and really dedicating your time and devotion to the project - while still having to work for years to finally get the boat ready for use. There's a lot to getting a boat ready for the sea (especially if you haven't built a boat before), and while sometimes it's simply the lack of time which delays the completion of a project, sometimes it can also be other things, like unexpected changes in plans, different difficulties in getting some part done, or even lack of money to buy another needed tool (or raw materials, in the case of a boat), etc. Of course, developing Whisper differs a lot from building a boat in many aspects too, for instance because while you can use the application yourself, you can easily give copies of it for other people to use as well (which is definitely the intention here). But nevertheless, maybe this analogue can tell something about what kind of a project Whisper is.
The application can most probably can never be called ready (there will always be lots of things to improve), but the idea is to improve both the software and the site slowly by time (in our own pace), when/if there's a possibility for that. No promises about any future releases can be made, but hopefully there will be enough time and energy to keep the development running.
